Vintage RUMTOPF jar in glazed ceramic made in WEST GERMANY by SCHEURICH company for the storage of fruit soaked in rum, a traditional German way of enjoying summer fruit in the winter, as part of the Christmas celebration. The Rumtopf is an attractive piece of pottery and has certainly a collectible value. It looks great on display and can be used for storing other foodstuffs. This RUMTOPF is model number 826-36 in a nice amphora shape with scrolled handles, hand-decorated with hand painted apple and pears in glossy glaze on a creamy-beige background. Measures approx. 36 cm (14.17”) tall with lid and 28 cm (11.02”) excluding lid and approx. 19 cm (7.48”) in diameter Weights approx. 2.650 kg Marked on the base 826-36, W.
